Tommy Girl

There is an obvious patriotic and feministic theme to the ad. The colors, slogan and setting depict that Tommy Girl is for an independent woman.

I do not agree with Tim's suggestion of rape. The Tommy Girl ad is strictly a matter of stratigic advertisement. It uses sex appeal to attract a young generation of adolecent teens and young adults. Her friendly smile and body position is welcoming in a sense, attracting the eye. Sex sells, rape doesn't.

If the rape idea was true, it might be more appropiate to change their slogan from "A declaration of Independence" to "Buy this perfume and get raped".
